HarbourView Legal is a Sydney commercial practice acting for Australian businesses and for overseas clients doing business here.
Big-firm training. Without the big-firm overheads.
The practice
Commercial legal work, handled by people who have done it at scale.
Our lawyers trained at top-tier Sydney firms and bring in-house experience across corporate Australia. We work across the full range of commercial law — the six groupings below are how we organise this site, not the limit of what we do.
-
Cost certainty
Scoped work is quoted as a fixed fee, agreed before anything starts.
-
Engagement that flexes
A single matter, ongoing support, or acting as your outsourced general counsel.
-
Built for the region
Set up for clients across the Asia-Pacific entering the Australian market.
Our work includes
Corporate & Commercial
The agreements and structures a business runs on, from incorporation through to sale.
→Employment & Workplace
Getting people arrangements right before they become a problem, and handling them properly when they do.
→Technology, Data & Digital
For businesses whose product, platform or data is the thing that matters most.
→Property & Leasing
Commercial property arrangements, from a single lease to a development structure.
→Projects, Energy & Infrastructure
Documents that hold together when a project runs for years and involves everybody.
→Business Operations & Regulatory
The ongoing legal work of simply operating — licences, compliance, trading terms, the day-to-day.
→Something else? If your matter does not fit neatly into a category, talk to us — we work across the full range of commercial law.
Start a conversation→How we work
From first enquiry to engagement letter, five steps.
- 01
Enquiry
Tell us what you are dealing with. A short note is enough to start.
- 02
Scoping call
We work out what the matter actually involves and whether we are the right people for it.
- 03
Proposal
A written scope and a fixed fee, or a clear basis for ongoing support.
- 04
Engagement
A formal engagement letter. Nothing is billed before this point.
- 05
Delivery
The work, done. With the people who scoped it still on it.
Fees & engagement
You should know the number before the work starts.
We quote a fixed fee for scoped work after a short call. What that fee is depends on the matter — which is why it comes after the conversation, not before it.
-
Scoped projects
A defined piece of work with a fixed fee agreed before anything starts. You know the number, and it does not move because the work took longer than expected.
-
Ongoing support
Flexible arrangements for businesses that need a lawyer on hand rather than a matter opened — shaped around how you actually work, including acting as an outsourced general counsel.
-
Ad hoc advice
A question, a contract to look over, a call before a decision. Sometimes that is all that is needed.
