Fees & engagement

Cost certainty, agreed before the work starts.

Legal fees are usually unpredictable because the basis for them is unpredictable. We quote a fixed fee for scoped work, after a short call, and that fee does not move because the matter took longer than we expected.

01

Scoped projects

A defined piece of work with a fixed fee agreed before anything starts. You know the number, and it does not move because the work took longer than expected.

02

Ongoing support

Flexible arrangements for businesses that need a lawyer on hand rather than a matter opened — shaped around how you actually work, including acting as an outsourced general counsel.

03

Ad hoc advice

A question, a contract to look over, a call before a decision. Sometimes that is all that is needed.

Common questions

Straight answers about money.

Why are there no prices on this website?
Because a number without a scope is a guess. What a matter costs depends on what it involves, and we would rather spend twenty minutes understanding that than publish a figure that turns out to be wrong in either direction.
When do I find out what it costs?
After the scoping call, in writing, before you commit to anything. The proposal sets out what is included and what is not.
What if the matter changes?
We tell you before the work happens, not after. A change in scope gets its own conversation and its own number.
Do you work on an ongoing basis?
Yes. Some clients need a lawyer on hand rather than a matter opened — that can be structured as ongoing support or as an outsourced general counsel arrangement, shaped around how your business actually runs.
Is the first conversation chargeable?
No. Nothing is billed before an engagement letter is signed.

The number comes after the conversation. Let's have the conversation.
